The Police - The Bottom Line Live LP.
Live Radio Broadcast.
Best Of The Police live at the Bottom Line, New York, NY, USA April 4th, 1979
This British new wave trio infused pop with reggae and a touch of punk and created a sound that speaks to music lovers across the board.
With a string of UK number one albums, the Police quickly were among the most commercially successful British bands.
One stop on their ‘The Police Around the World Tour’ brings the Brits to New York city where they leave the audience screaming for more after unforgettable versions of their hit songs: ‘Roxanne’, ‘Can't Stand Losing You’, ‘So Lonely’, to name a few.
• The Police have sold over 75 million records, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time.
• Sting wrote ‘Roxanne’ inspired by the prostitutes he saw near the band's seedy hotel in Paris.
• ‘Roxanne’, despite the subject, was never banned, but the BBC did the hit single ‘Can't Stand Losing You’ because of the controversial artwork.
• The primary songwriter for the Police, Sting was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002.
• The band won six Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003
