Sweet blue-eyed funk from Spats – a group who might have sounded smoother and more AOR, had they recorded on the west coast – but who here cut a groove in the Criteria studios, with all the best 70s Miami soul currents that might imply! Most tracks have great basslines and riffing guitar – and lead singer Michael Bradley has a way of sounding soulful, but always at a level that's never too self-conscious – and some of the other group members slide right in behind him, and buoy up some of the best tracks with mighty nice harmonies! Think of the sound here as a funkier take on the territory of Ned Doheny, and you'll get a good part of the picture – on tunes that include "Playin Time", "Someday", "Hot Summer Madness", "Up To The Country", "Livin Is What You Make It", "Street Love", and "Put Some Souf In Yo Mouf".
