Leon Ware comes from Detroit and both wrote and produced at Motown in addition to being an artist in his own right. He worked for The Isley Brothers and Michael Jackson at the label, and his perhaps best known for his creation of “I Want You” for Marvin Gaye. At Motown he recorded one album “Musical Massage”, previously reissued by Expansion with bonus tracks, but as a solo artist made his best two albums at Elektra. Now for the first time together on one CD, Expansion release “Rockin’ You Eternally”/”Leon Ware” which include such timeless soul masterpieces as “Why I Came To California”, “Somewhere”, “Sure Do Want You Now”, “Lost In Love Without You” and of course the title track to “Rockin’ You Eternally” which Leon continues to perform at sell out shows to this day. The musicians credits read like a who’s who in soul and jazz, contributing to the splendor of Leon’s songs, vocals and productions on these two albums.
