Janis Joplin - The Broadcast Collection 1967-1970 (4 cd).
Janis Joplin is still considered one of the most influential blues singers of the sixties.
Joplin's lyrics reflect a sense of pain and loneliness of a woman who had low self-esteem and was tormented by a lack of self-confidence.
In 2013, Joplin received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She remains one of the best-selling musicians in the United States, with over 18.5 million albums sold!
Janis Joplin died in 1970 at the age of 27 from e.g n overdose of heroin and is therefore one of the original members of the '27 Club'; in a two-year period, four well-known artists died at the age of 27 (Brian Jones in 1969, Jimmy Hendrix in 1970, Jim Morrison in 1971 and Janis in 1970).
Since then, the term 27 club has often been used for any artist who dies at that age, such as Curt Cobain in 1994 and Amy Winehouse in 2011...
