Colonel Abrams – Colonel Abrams 

In 1981 MCA signed Colonel Abrams and appointed the British producer Richard James Burgess to produce the album. This collaboration resulted in the hits "Trapped", "I'm Not Gonna Let You" and urban contemporary ballad "Table for Two". "Trapped" reached the top five and went gold in the UK Singles Chart and topped the U.S. Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1985. The album “Colonel Abrams” followed soon after that, and spent two weeks at number one the following year. 
The single "Trapped" was a huge success and sold over 5 million copies worldwide. The producers Stock, Aitken and Waterman in London used the bassline of "Trapped" for the production of “Never Gonna Give you up” with U.K. singer Rick Astley and this track went to number one in a lot of counties all over the world.
The Second single of Colonel Abrams "I'm Not Gonna Let You" also spent a week at number one on the single charts in 1986. The album peaked at number 75 on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart and number 13 on the U.S. R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. His second album titled You and Me Equals Us followed soon after that and was released in 1987 reached similar success.
As extra bonus tracks the album contains 5 remixes of the Colonel’s most successful singles.
