Clifford Coulter was a notable blues and R&B keyboardist in the 70’s and 80’s who released 3 solo albums.
He also played with the likes of John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Mel Brown, Sergio Mendes and Bill Withers.
THE BETTER PART OF ME was Clifford’s third and final solo album appearing in 1980 on CBS Records.
This album crammed full of soulful R&B was produced by Soul legend BILL WITHERS.
Bill had spent 10 years churning out hit after hit with the likes of Grandma’s Hands, Ain’t No Sunshine, Lovely Day and Just The Two Of Us. Using the kudos from these hits he fashioned a position for himself that allowed him to produce some of his favourite artists including Clifford.
