The Pointer Sisters were one of the most successful female groups the music industry has seen with 13 top 20 singles and 8 top 40 albums shared between the US and UK pop charts. In 1986 the Pointer Sisters released Hot Together, their second album on RCA records, and in January of 87, Hot Together peaked at #48 on the US Pop Chart, rose all the way to #39 on the US R&B Charts while gaining a #20 spot in Sweden almost 14 years after the release of their first album. HOT TOGETHER featured the production of the legendary Richard Perry who is responsible for producing some of The Pointer Sisters best work. The first single to hit the charts was GOLDMINE, which shot its way into the top 20 on the USR&B charts and made #33 spot on the US Pop Chart. Other notable tracks include SET ME Free, which was used on the opening credits for Whoopi Goldberg’s 80’s hit movie, Jumpin Jack Flash while the title track was chosen to appear on the soundtrack for Space Balls.
