Full Force - Get Busy 1 Time, expanded Version of their classic 1986 album.

Remastered by Mark Wilder at Battery Studio's NY, from the original tapes .

By the time Get Busy 1 Time! hit record shelves, Full Force had already made great strides to establish themselves as not only talented producers and performers, but savvy business men to boot. The group, consisting of three brothers ("Bowlegged Lou" George, "Paul Anthony" George, and Brian "B-Fine" George) and three cousins (Junior "Shy Shy" Clarke, Curtis "Curt-t-t" Bedeau and Gerard "Baby Gerry" Charles) had already put hit records on the charts with U.T.F.O., and was now managing what would eventually become one of the most successful Latin pop acts of all time in Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam. On the heels of the success of their first album, 1985's Full Force, the group was asked to go out on tour with legendary funk group Cameo. Not wanting to miss their chance to get out on the road, they rushed into the studio with the material they'd already begun preparing in the Brooklyn basement that had played host to their earliest recordings.
Only a handful of years had passed since the group had taken those early basement recordings around New York and pitched them to the likes of Chic guitarist and co-producer Nile Rodgers. The risks Full Force has taken throughout their entire career can easily be traced back to their willingness to hustle and grind their way towards opportunities during the early 1980s. Now, instead of a basement, they were recording at the legendary Power Station, rubbing elbows with some of the biggest names in the game. To make their dates with Cameo, Get Busy 1 Time! was, for all intents and purposes, recorded in just three weeks.
The opening moments of the album say quite a bit about the group's position in the game at that time. Those bigger than life drum sounds that lead off "Temporary Love Thing" had been exclusively associated with rap records until a year or so prior, when the Full Force produced "I Wonder If I Take You Home" brought Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam straight up the charts. With a "seize the moment" mentality in mind, Paul Anthony wrote the lyrics to what he fondly remembers as his "road song" from the group's first tour. This was the first single released from Get Busy 1 Time!, and it managed to reach #12 on the R&B charts.

Fans from the western United States might be surprised to know that the group was originally very unaware of the impact "Unfaithful" was having on the West Coast in the fall of '86. Despite prompts from friends such as Michael Bivins (of New Edition & Bell, Biv, Devoe fame) that it should have been the album's first single, "Unfaithful" didn't really gain it's momentum until legendary programming director Keith Naftaly put the record into heavy rotation at the Bay Area's KMEL radio station. The album's second single, "Unfaithful" climbed to #20 on the R&B charts. For the first time ever on CD, we get to hear the full Faithful Remix version of the cut (yep...the one with that big 808 kick in the mix!) that we West Coast fans remember dancing to.
